International Baptist Church of Berlin
IBC Berlin is an English-language international church that currently meets in Steglitz. IBC Berlin is our partner church, helping us establish a new international worshipping community in Prenzlauer Berg. They give us spiritual support as well as legal status until we become a fully autonomous church. We function as a “daughter” church of IBC Berlin according to the BEFG’s guidelines for mother-daughter church relationships.
International Baptist Convention
The International Baptist Convention is an international network of predominately English-language churches in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America. These churches voluntarily cooperate with each other for fellowship and support. Each IBC church is unique, but all are united in belief in Jesus and the desire to obey his teachings and see other people walk in a relationship with him. As a daughter church of IBC Berlin, we naturally take part in this larger family of churches.
Bund evangelisch-Freikirchlicher Gemeinden
The Union of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany, also knowns as, the Bund Evangelisch-Freikirchlicher Gemeinden in Deutschland (BEFG), is a free church network under public law in Germany. Today over 700 churches participate in this union. Free churches do not benefit from the Kirchensteuer (church tax) but receive voluntary donations from church participants. Each church is unique but united in the belief of the God of the Bible, salvation through Jesus Christ, and reserving baptism for those who make a personal decision to walk with Jesus. Since IBC Berlin is an active member of the BEFG, we are also a member as a daughter church.
